DESTINATION VALLE DE CAMPO
The Valles del Sur area is one of the great tourist unknowns in Cantabria. Its location, between Green Spain and the Castilian Plateau, is symbolised by the Tres Mares peak, with a unique feature in the entire Iberian Peninsula: the Ebro, Pisuerga and Nansa rivers are born from its snows, which flow, respectively, to the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the Cantabrian Sea.
The area is excellent for snow and adventure sports, with the
Alto Campoo Ski and Mountain Resort as the most important example. It is a paradise for nature lovers and has a very interesting cultural heritage.
Campoo has impressive and beautiful landscapes, highlighting the Peña Labra and El Cordel mountain ranges (with heights of more than 2,000 m), the source of the Ebro in Fontibre, the deep gorges of this same river as it passes through Villaescusa, or the entire contour of the reservoir.
